AUTHOR

Ollie Brennan-Kerr

I read the fine print so you don't have to guess at it. Every page on Punt Ledger is mine, and this page says what I bring to it and what I don't.

Who I am

A punter from Brisbane who has bet on footy and the races since 2015 and started reading promo terms properly after a bonus bet paid half what I'd assumed it would. I keep a spreadsheet with one row per clause and one column for what it does to a $50 bet; this site is that spreadsheet with sentences. Before this I spent several years in retail compliance, reading other people's terms and conditions for a living, which is the only qualification I'll claim.

What I do for each page

I read the bookmaker's published terms and help articles, quote the lines that move money with the clause number and the date I read them, and work the arithmetic on $50 using the bookmaker's own formula. Where a bookmaker prints an example, I put mine next to it. Every page lists what I did and what I haven't done, and every page has a sources block.

What I don't have

No gambling licence, no legal qualification, no accounts with the bookmakers during a check, and no access to offers that appear only after login. Nothing here is legal or financial advice. The method page says how the fine-print score works; the how we earn page says which links are paid.

Why the tone

Because promo terms are arithmetic, and arithmetic doesn't need adjectives. A $50 bonus bet at $2.00 credits $50. That sentence does more for a punter than any amount of enthusiasm, and it's the kind of sentence this site is built from.
